Beginner Watercolour

Join us for 6 weeks that will cover all the basic watercolour techniques.

washes - flat, graded, blended colours

various texture techniques: salt, alcohol, masking, colour sanding etc.

shading and highlights, lifting colour

trees, grasses, wood grain, glass, simple florals
-
colour mixing, colour theory
and several more techniques.
You complete several sample grids and three to five small paintings

Beginner Acrylic 6 week class
Tuesday evenings 6:30 to 9 pm
(ask about afternoon classes)
Join us for 6 classes that will cover all the basic acrylic techniques.

basecoating and blended backgrounds
-
prep for different surfaces, canvas, wood, fabric etc.

various texture techniques - stencils, texture paste, etc
-
shading and highlights and where they go for 3D effects
-
Landscape and still life elements - trees, grasses, wood grain, glass
-
simple floral tips
-
colour mixing, colour theory
and several more techniques.
You complete three to five small paintings
All supplies are included and you take home the paint and brushes used
Handouts and miscellaneous supplies also included.

Weekly Watercolour Project Classes
Every Wednesday night this winter.
Register ahead of time for a single project, or for a month, or for a semester

$12. per day
or register for a month at a time.
Paint the projects I suggest for the evening. Get step by step instruction, demos and help to complete each project.
Or pick from previous or available projects of your choice and get step by step instruction and demos
Or paint your own project independently and get help as needed. Bring your own photo references.
Supplies - Bring your own. I have limited basic supplies for sale in the studio
Classes can be arranged in the afternoons or evenings.
Pre-registration is a must to make sure I have room in the studio that day.

No refunds unless there are extenuating circumstances (death in family etc) BUT there are some video projects on line you can choose to watch in lieu of a missed lesson OR come during a different time slot.

Weekly Drawing classes

Or do you need a refresher?
Join us for a fun 6 week class to learn to draw. This is a beginner course covering everything from pencils, paper, shading, values, and how to draw from photos or from real life objects.
Come and learn all the tips and tricks for becoming better at drawing!
Starts Monday Feb 17 from 6:30 to 9 pm.
Ask about afternoon classes.
Bring a set of pencils of different hardnesses, a sketchbook and erasers. Or order a beginner drawing kit from the studio when you register. call or email for prices.
